The first RIBA + VitrA Regional Talk taking place at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Wakefield is on Wednesday 22nd May 2019.
The RIBA + VitrA talk will coincide with The Weston’s (the Yorkshire Sculpture Park’s new visitor centre design by architecture firm, Feilden Fowels) celebratory opening. The talk will be an ‘in conversation’ style lecture with Co-Directors Fergus Feilden and Edmund Fowles, and Clare Lilley, the Director of Programme at Yorkshire Sculpture Park. The talk, themed on the creation and build of the new visitor centre, will cover everything from how it was constructed, to the material palette used by the architects and its relationship with its surroundings.
The project, which was carefully designed to have minimum impact to the original site, fits seamlessly with the historic landscape it sits within.
