Hemghar | To launch during London Design Festival

Rug specialist, Hemghar is a new home accessories brand with a key focus on fabulous hand knotted rugs from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iran. Set to launch during London Design Festival, and based in west London, the design brand is set to cause a stir…

Delight in their new series of hand-knotted rugs, each unique and one-off, carefully created using a combination of the highest quality wool and natural vegetable dyes (and taking up to six months to create).

You’ll also love the brand’s collection of vintage overdyed Persian rugs (each of which is 60 to 80 years old). The brand has carefully restored and reworked each rug by overdying it using specialised techniques and approaches. Prepare to fawn their over their beautifully distressed style which comes from the natural dyes affecting each rug (and yarn) in a different way.

There is also the brand’s new Rya collection, which is inspired by traditional Scandinavian wool rugs and flaunt a pile of one to three inchesm as well as Hemghar’s Kilims which are traditional in their design, but contemporary in their use of colour.

Hemghar will be unveiling their new showroom in Westbourne Studios in early September of this year, just in time for London Design Festival.

Note: The name Hemghar is derived from the translation of the word ‘home’ in Swedish (hem) and Urdu (ghar).
