With only one day to go until Decorex opens – returning to Syon Park for its 41st year – we’ve got one question for you: have you got your ticket yet?
Kick-starting the begining of London Design Festival, the show (running from the 16th to the 19th September) is the ideal luxury interiors and design destination to start your #LDF18 journey with.
Playing host to over 400 exhibitors, prepare to delight in the carefully curated array of luxury, high-end interior and design brands. Showcasing everything from furniture, interior and lighting designers along with fabric and textile companies, you’ll be able to discover everyone from established names to up-and-coming makers.
This year’s showcase will explore the concept ‘Blank Canvas’ as its show theme. Offering a ‘carte blanche’, the concept is all about exploring how an empty space can celebrate a new beginning, and this idea that it’s a fresh chance to create something beautiful (in the way that Decorex and its exhibitors do each year).
Alongside this, as you may have seen from our previous post ‘Decorex | Four UK interior designers to design the show’s main entrance‘, interior design studios Maddux Creative, Studio Suss, Henry Prideaux Interior Design and Designed by Woulfe will be designing the main entrance installation inspired by the show’s theme this year. Their work will also tell the stories behind the developments of their careers, and you’ll be able to discover individual vignettes by the interior designers that feature items, colours and patterns based on what has inspired them on their design journeys.
Future Heritage Stand at Decorex 2017
Make sure to stop by the Future Heritage exhibition, that will be celebrating luxury British craft and applied arts and showcasing some of the best talents in the UK who will be presenting new work created especially for the show. The exhibition, curated by Corine Julius, the renowned applied arts and design critic and curator, has come to be known as the showcase of craft to collection and commission, and will include makers such as Tord Boontje, Jochen Holz, Marcin Rusak and Studio Glithero.

You’ll definitely need to schedule a pit-stop for a breather at the Lambart & Browne contemporary British designed bar too, not just for a beverage of your choice but to discover the refined, colonial style bar and it’s shaped decorative screens, luxurious furnitue and truly elegant lighting features.

You will also want to add the show’s inspiring seminar programme with talks from key industry influencers into your diary. Highlights this year will include: ‘brand building through creativity’ with Jeffrey Beers, Sebastian Cox, David Mottershead, Emilio Pimentel-Reid and Christiane Lemieux; ‘an interior designer’s take on product design’ with Staffan Tollgard, Jo Hamiltonm, Letitia Taylor, Katharine Pooley and Matteo Bianchi; ‘putting personality into new build’ with Dan Hopwood and ‘how to guarantee original design for every project’ with Henry Prideaux, Natalia Miyar and Sophie Elborne; and Tricia Guild will be in conversation with Ben Spriggs.
