Honest craft prevails with F Chair | Fresh look is revealed

Based on the virtues of traditional craft, the F Chair put a contemporary take on Shaker style

The contemporary Shaker-inspired F Chair, originally created by furniture designer Rasmus Bækkel Fex, has been restyled in fumed oak with a hand-woven natural linen seat.

Danish furniture brand Brdr. Krüger has introduced this new take on the F Chair design which has deep roots in traditional woodcraft. Through its minimalist form, it reinterprets the centuries-old Shaker chair typology and adopts a modern aesthetic. The colourtone of the all-natural linen fabric harmoniously balances with the natural hues of the wood and  its texture is soft to touch for a truly comfortable seat.

“It carries on the folksy simplicity and honesty of the archetypical Shaker chair, but with a modern comfort and a clean-cut, geometrical and minimalistic appearance,” Brdr. Krüger explain.

The natural linen adds a refined and tactile experience to the versatile design, that comes with or without armrests. Its characteristic, strong and closely woven webbing pattern nods to both American and Danish traditions, and the polyester “showcases the subtle beauty of the industrial material, while the webbed seat changes character as it reflects the surrounding light,”

The webbing is applied by hand at the family workshop of Brdr. Krüger in Værløse, Denmark, giving a beautiful handcrafted touch to the F Chair’s finished appearance. With its versatile design it can be placed at a dining table for more formal seating, or offer comfortable seating in the kitchen.

F Chair is available in two models, with or without armrests and in light oak or fumed oak.
