[AD] designjunction returns | With the ‘Best of British’

If you’re looking to uncover some inspiring, forward-thinking British craftsmanship this autumn, designjunction – running from the 19th – 22nd September 2019 – should be your first port of call.

Accumulating the newest and most innovative furniture, lighting and accessory designers within its new King’s Cross Design District space, designjunction returns to London’s newest creative quarter with some seriously inspirational new and established British designers and manufacturers in tow. 

We’ve selected five British brands you should keep an eye out for during your visit… 

#1 TedWood 

Furniture design studio and workshop, TedWood returns to designjunction this 2019 to unveil their latest collection in Cubitt House on Cubitt Square. Established in 2013 by Ted Jefferis, the brand is known for their celebrated handcrafted sustainable wooden furniture and lighting designs. Located in an ancient English oak woodland in Sussex, TedWood aims to celebrate and showcase the beauty of timber and the woodland from which it grew. 

#2 Brook Studio 

New arrival, Brook Studio will be unveiling their latest Marlow collection during the event, including the Walter sideboard and chair design, Leo. The Leo chair marks an important occasion for the brand as they have never released a chair design before. Producing carefully crafted furniture for both residential and commercial spaces, Brook Studio bring’s a strong focus to craftsmanship, materials, longevity and purpose. 

#3 Juliana Loveday 

Prepare to delve into the work of Juliana Loveday who, following a ten year career as an interior stylist, recently started a new venture as an artist. Her work consists of prints, drawings and paintings (figurative and abstract) that aim to create a sense of well-being within a space. Visitors to designjunction can expect to see never-before-seen pieces of work from the artist too. 

#4 Harriet Caslin 

You’ll instantly be drawn in by the work of Harriet Caslin, who’s designs include porcelain lighting and tableware. Made in her Mersea Island studio (just off the Essex coast) prepare to indulge in her signature Scandinavian style which flaunts relaxed, simple forms, linear patterns and soft, enticing colour palettes for the new collection. #5 Forest & Maker 

Brought together by a shared passion for the environment and sustainability, Wiltshire-based William Hibbert and Samuel Baker are the designer duo behind Forest & Maker. Having kick-started the business handcrafting made-to-order pieces in their spare time, the brand quickly grew into an award-winning workshop of passional craftspeople. At this year’s designjunction the brand will showcase its new office collection, ‘Graft’ which has been designed in collaboration with STAC architecture.
